while there is a wireless thread here

I have a desktop and a laptop connected via wireless router.

Currently have the network set up with WEP. If i want to change to WPA is it as simple as going into the router webpage and selecting WPA and entering my passphrase - then entering the passphrase when connecting my pc's to the wioreless networks.

Or is there more to it - ie. attaching the laptops to the router (like when you initially set it up) and resetting options bla bla

No, its easy, just make sure all your network (wifi) cards implement WPA.

had something like this problem earlier, also setting up mother's 'puter.

no idea whatsoever how i fixed it. i entered the WEP key again and it worked.

doesn't help in the slightest, i know.

just checked on my desktop - there is a Belkin wireless card utility thingy and that has an option under security of enabling WPA. so i would say thats ok

will have to check my laptop tomorrow. So its as simple as i said yes. Enable WPA on the belkin web page account thing. Then when trying to connect to the network - enter the passphrase i entered into the web page.
