I wonder if the Rigters signing will end our interest in Bellamy. Would love him to come back and partner Benni.
I'm still hopeful we'll get another quality central midfielder in - although the return of Savage and Reid is like 2 new signings |

I'm unfortunately thinking that us signing Rigters means that there is some truth in the rumours of Roberts leaving, as I still think we have an interest in Bellamy. Or perhaps Hughes now feels that Bellamy isn't a realistic option anymore.
I'm a bit surprised that we both extended Enckelman's contract and signed Nielsen. I'd have thought that we would be going into the season with Brown as backup, and Nielsen as one for the future. I can only assume this means that Hughes doesn't want to rely on Brown in case Friedel gets injured? Which he never does though, it's something like 115 straight premiership starts now.
Got some way to go until he catches the veteran keeper of my local team, Bengt Andersson of IFK Göteborg who has 237 straight league starts. That's in a league which only plays 26 games per season (Next season there'll be 16 teams instead of 14 tho), so he's started every game in the past nine years. I'm hoping Brad will beat him though |

Oh, I'm pretty sure of one thing though: One of our current strikers will have to leave if we are to sign Bellamy, as we currently have Roberts, McCarthy, Derbyshire and Rigters as our main strike force, as well as Gallagher and Jeffers (Although he'll leave) behind them. And in emergencies we even have Pedersen and Bentley. So we're well stocked there. Either Roberts or McCarthy are gone, or we're loaning Derbyshire or Rigters out for the season.
But I find the loan theory the least likely.

"We wish to make it absolutely clear Benni was not absent from training and turned up as scheduled," said a statement on the Blackburn website."

So, apparently Andy Todd is close to finishing a £750k move to Derby. Decent enough fee for a backup player.
And Crystal Palace are targeting Jason Brown to be their new #1. Could explain the contract extension given to Enckelman.

I for one, dont really think bellamy is coming back, has hughes actually come out in the media and said he wants to sign him?
the fee is £12 million im led to beleive, liverpool taking us for right mugs, and them complaining when madrid were looking for more money for owen then they payed liverpool for.
i cant see derbs being loaned out, i think this season hughes is gonna use him as much as he did last season, he had his loan spell at wrexham those years back, now its his time to make an impact on the first team.

See we are gonna be wearing an umbro strip this season, as opposed to Lonsdale.
quite liked lonsdale, tought they done a pretty decent shirt, still, good to see us get a more recognised and higher profile manufacturer now.

Good news that Nelsen has signed a 5 yr deal. One of the most under-rated defenders in the Premiership
