So what do you all think of the comments from mourinho today in about benni, is he trying to unsettle him do you think?

Yeah quite blatant i think, unsettle benni and put rovers under more pressure to sell. Clearly rovers want a good tranfer fee so i suppose this is part of Mourinhos plan to force our hand.

going by how many goals he scored last season, we really should be looking for over a 10 million fee though, but the fact he's pushing on 30 now, might go against us, but if we did go for less then 10 mill, i'd be extrememly disapointed.
but i dont want to see him go at all.
see the rumours a few clubs are after sav now, dont think we'd sell him though. and i dont think he wants to leave either, so hopefully thats as far as it goes

Yeah we certainly should get more than £10 million for him. West Ham want £5 million for Harewood, Chelsea signed Shevchenko for £30million and he is around 30, not to mention the general inflation of fees this year and his impeccable goal scoring record I would say we are in a very strong position.
I think Sav is the engine of our midfield and I think Hughesy rates him very highly, i really cant see him leaving for a couple of seasons yet.
This takeover lark is worrying because the guy mentioned seems a bit shady but if we do indeed get some rich new owners then we could certainly be a force.

do you really think that we've got a chance of getting bellamy back though?
i myself cant see it happen, i think he'll move on to pastures new, rather then come back again, and we really cant compete against west hal and villla in terms of wages.
but the american take over, is interesting, we really do need investement to keep up with the rest of the teams there, but i trust williams, if he thinks the boys are dodgy, he wont do a deal, he's gotta be up there with the best chairmen in the league

only thing Blackburn really need is a targetman to partner Benni up front isn't it (and the rest of the squad to say injury free)
GK)Friedel DR)Emerson DL)Warnock DC)Nelsopn DC)Samba MR)Bently MC)Savage MC)Reid ML)Gamst FC)Benni FC)New Targetman
and then bring Derbyshire into games or rotate him with Benni
Get the right partner for Benni and Blackburn could challange for CL spots

Investor confirms Blackburn talks
American-based businessman Daniel Williams has confirmed that he has held talks with Blackburn Rovers about taking over the club.
But Williams, originally from Lytham St Annes, is keen to stress that reports of an imminent takeover are incorrect.
"We are at the very, very early stages of any kind of process," Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"The whole thing about a deal being imminent and a price being agreed just isn't the case."
Williams is fronting a consortium interested in taking over at Ewood Park and has been involved in the proposal since March.
"A guy I know was looking at Premier League clubs that might be for sale and Blackburn came up, so that's when I became interested," added the 30-year-old.
Talks are very much at the conversational stage at the moment
US-based businessman David Williams
"However, when he later pulled out, I remained interested and I've since got other people interested in coming on board."
The consortium comprises American financial institutions, although Williams would expect to invest heavily if a takeover was to go through.
Williams owns a company called Elite Graduate Jobs and another heavily involved in property development, Princeton Global Housing.
He follows the fortunes of Rovers from the United States and attended three Blackburn games last season, including the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea in April.
But he added of the talks with Blackburn that they are "very much at the conversational stage at the moment".
He insisted: "We've had a very good dialogue with chairman John Williams and his vice-chairman David Brown but a lot of what has been written is exceptionally premature.
606: DEBATE
I fully trust John Williams, who has been a great chairman, to make deals that are only in the best interest of the club
RV
"I certainly haven't seen anything in the way of due diligence and we haven't formally made an approach."
Rovers chairman John Williams admitted on 13 June that talks had taken place with a potential investor.
"We've made some progress with a third party but it is very difficult because of all of the formalities involved," he said.
US investors are currently clamouring for a piece of lucrative Premiership action following the respective takeovers of Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa and also the interest in the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
Any potential deal at Ewood Park hinges on whether the trustees of the late Jack Walker, the former owner and chairman, approve the sale. | |

I had to go to page 8 to find this thread
so we have made our first 2 signings of the summer, a 20 year old faroe islands keeper, Gunnar Nielsen, and then Maceo Ritgers
now the keeper, nielsen, he was here on a trial a few months back, so hughes must see something in him. and ritgers, well he got the 4 goals in the u21 championships, could be a good signing that one.
