I'd say that us and City are the prime challengers for 4th place, with Portsmouth up there as well judging from their start to the season. However all three sides are lacking in depth, injuries in certain positions would be disastrous.
I think we have an advantage over those teams in that I believe we have a better ability to grind out results in those scrappy, close games. But it's really too early to tell. We've got games away to Tottenham and Man U, as well as Liverpool at home coming up so we could drop a bit in the table. I do think we have a very good chance of beating Tottenham (Although Keane seems to always enjoy playing us) and getting at least a draw from Liverpool (Unless of course Stevie feels like doing more bellyflops), and if we get 4 points from those games I think we've done well.
Also, with Reid playing his first game for the reserves tomorrow, and Berner, Treacy and Rigters all returning to action in the pas week or two, and Nelsen being fit again (Didn't play yesterday simply because Ooijer has been doing well so no reason to risk anything, he'll be even fitter next week), I think we've got a fully fit squad for the first time in a long, long while. Warnock limped off yesterday but Hughes says he should be fit for next week.
