As I said I had the same problem the other day, my controller was not even turning the machine on had to do it via the machine so I connected the controller via usb and turned the tv off then got picture.
I could hear the gane loading up the blue light on the machine was on but no picture, I was trying to watch a film at the time.
My mates video out died 2 weeks ago. He rang Sony and they sent him a new one via courier - suggest you do the same as it sounds like the same problem.
This won't help right now - but you need to try it in your other TV slots - or alternatively take it to a friend's house and check it doesn't work there to rule out the TV.
If you still have problems on another TV, then you may well need to get in touch with Sony regarding your video out...
