your cpu is functional or you would not load. Shutdown of this nature is always heat induced. Try and load up in safe mode and if there is no improvement I'd put money on your cpu overheeating. It'a a matter of working out why then.

That's excellent news girl. I'm very pleased to hear it. Your favourite 'Uncle' from the past is proud of you. ( but let us not debate that too much as I'm still under the radar )

problems : - it keeps dying on me. Not just automoatic shutdown, but total powerdown. I have to switch the pulgs off and back on again before it reboots. It reboots fine, but wipes all my internet history.
Its not the PSU as i just had a new one fitted, does the same thing, its not the power cable as i stole one from work and its still the same.
Its virus free and no spyware as i managed to have it online long enough for an AVG scan and a spybot.
So its either the over heating which i doubt, or a software problem.
Now my PC is a beast, shall i just save myself the hassle, get this http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-3224/btnResultSort.x%3d...sultSort.y%3d11.aspx and trasfer all my data and stuff over, but my other bits and bobs in it?
its going back to my boss on thursday for him to look at and fix, but i just want a backup plan.
| Have you noticed that you don't get Windows with that?

Depends. If Windows came preinstalled on your old one, or if it's an OEM version, then no. Even if you have a full version on disc its gets tricky because you'll have previously 'activated' it on your old one.
