Whats to discuss someone has died in road accident. Its hardly a contentious issue is it. Or it wasn't until you wandered in and told people what to think.
I'm all for discussion but i'm sure I speak for the rest of the mod team when i say that I cant be arsed dealing with type of petty crap all the time form the same old users.
Unfortunately if people continue to treat this place like their own playground and think the forum is here for their entertainment (its not is here for everyones entertainment - subtle difference) then they may be in for a shock.

shock me baby.
It's obvious that this is a personal tragedy for those directly impacted, but I don't see why that means anything other than straight down the line one dimensional sympathy has to be out of the question?
and for the record, I've told nobody 'what to think'. The last couple of times footballers have died we had loads of of inane 'another one!!!; comments. I was just touching on that. I'd assume you'd be more interested in the person insulting me with their oh so clever way around the swear filter? Do you really think a comment like that really upset or offended anyone?

Hartlepool player dies in crash
Oct 20 2007 by Evening Gazette
Hartlepool professional footballer Michael Maidens was killed in a car crash on Teesside last night.
Mr Maidens was a front seat passenger of a Vauxhall Corsa which crashed on the A174/A1053 Greystone roundabout sliproad towards the Parkway at about 8.25pm on Friday night.
The 20-year-old midfielder was from Skelton.
The club’s away game against Swansea City today has been postponed as a mark of respect following the tragedy.
A club statement said: "It is with huge sadness that the club reports the death of young player Micheal Maidens.
"As a mark of respect, the game with Swansea City has been postponed as well as the youth team fixture at Victoria Park.
"Our thoughts and best wishes are with Michael's family at this very sad time."
Police said Mr Maidens was in a car travelling in a convoy with a group of friends when the crash happened.
The car which crashed was the last in the line.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: "The car was travelling west along the A174 from the direction of Lazenby towards the slip road of the roundabout on to the A174 Parkway.
"It is understood that this vehicle was travelling in convoy with a group of others driven by his friends. This vehicle was last in line.
"As the car negotiated the slip road directly off the roundabout, it lost control and spun in the road, and collided with metal posts, causing serious damage to the car on the passenger side.
"The impact caused fatal injuries to the front seat passenger."
Three fire engines were scrambled to the scene at 8.25pm after reports that the vehicle had rolled over. Police also attended and confirmed that one person had been killed.
Officers closed the A174 between the Greystones Roundabout and the A174 west for a number of hours following the accident. | Linky |

With a story like this and you tend to make assumptions. Dangerous driving, high powered car etc etc. Seems like none of that is true in this case. Just plain dumb bad luck.

| I really don't get this...why is it tasteless? It's only a random thread on a random messageboard, it's not significant in any genuine way to the people involved?
I'm talking about issues around the subject, so why isn't this exactly the place to talk about it? Nobody is going to be upset or confused if the thread contains more than one strand?
