I have Alexx Kid as well. The Megadrive Collection is a top class compilation of games.

Not including NeoGeo because that was basically an arcade machine.

£70 for a console game is insane, and ROTR was ROT.

I remember paying £60 for Super Mario 3 when it came out, but that was actually worth it. Not many games gave me more enjoyment than it.
One of the driving games on the megadrive was £70 virtual racing I think.

I would give Gain Ground a good go if I were you. Brilliant game.

I finally got hold of System Shock today. Havent got around to sticking my sound card in this pc yet or setting up the speakers so I probably wont get around to playing it for a while. Hmm.

There was a football game in the arcades, just international sides with low shot/pass and high shot/pass on the two buttons. Really simple but immensely playable. Players used to go mad when you scored and run around in a big huddle. Not one of the Virtua games, older i think.

Anyone?

Hypersports was awesome. Also, Jet Set Willy was great back in the day. Used to love it.

Track down Parodius Portable for your PSP. Jap only, but great retro fun to be had - if you remember the Parodius games mind.
