Ghostbusters and the Real Ghostbusters also two of the best games back then.

The Real Ghostbusters had a pretty damn good attempt at the theme tune. 'Drums' and everything.

I use to love the Donkey Kong Country games on the SNES. They were some of the best 2D platformers ever, although Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World were just as good.

When it came to multiplayer, Super Bomberman ruled.

I also used to love Theme Park. Played it again recently though and it sucks. Oh how it ruined my childhood memories of the game.

Just thought of a few more games Head over Heels
Daley and Thompson decathlon.
Full list of spectrum games here

My favourite managerial game before Championship/Football Manager was the double.

One thing that always amazes me is how blooming expensive the games where originally. Many Amiga games £25 on release.

Treasure Island and Boulderdash on the C64 were also brilliant games.

I remember buying a Spectrum game each week from Woolworths. They were £2.99 each

Rise of the Robots surely still has the most rediculous price tag. Has any game been listed as more since or before?

Not including NeoGeo because that was basically an arcade machine.

£70 for a console game is insane, and ROTR was ROT.

I remember paying £60 for Super Mario 3 when it came out, but that was actually worth it. Not many games gave me more enjoyment than it.

Having just played the original Golden Axe again, I can categorically state that it's a load of toss.

Enemies have shorter weapons but can hit you from further away. Awesome.

Streets of Rage ****es on it from an enormous height.
