Its been really mild up here of late, so I really feel for Rictus123 if he is getting worried about the cold
The worst I`ve witnessed was a spell of weather, where the inside of our sheds was -8C during the day and -22C at night for about a week. The frost got a foot into the ground, I think it was the winter of 95, or maybe 94.

winter of 95 it was, that was the time at Christmas time when it was about -10-15C in Glasgow and lower than -20C at night. I remember sitting in my gran's house playing a Megadrive with my jacket and my gloves on as her heating was broke

Oh i remember a really bad winter before i went to high school, so was 94/95.
The show was so deep they cut off the roads all round Craigrothie and Ceres, couldnt get out. RAF had to bring water in by bottles to us.
The plus points? Sledging down the main road, was amazing
