Complicated but it isn't just whether they know right from wrong but also their upbringing. Even when a child knows right from wrong their environment has to be taken into account more than with an adult. Then when sentencing the increased chance of rehabilitating them has to be taken into account.

And if you had the kind of childhood that did not expose you to a spot of danger then I feel sorry for you. Enjoy your lifer as a junior accountant. </BLOCKQUOTE> " called growing up" no its called being a compete idiot
there's spot of danger & there's middle eastern method of execution

It happens, ffs.
I got hit on the back of my head with a rock one day. The kid who threw it was not throwing it at me, he just got me.
I didn't die, btw.

Lots of kids aged 10 do stupid stuff like this. I don't think for a minute that these kids thought they might injure/kill anyone through their actions.
| My brother is 12 and my sister is 10 they dont intentionally go around throwing rocks at people, so id disagree when you say lots do stupid stuff lyk kill a man for no reason wether on purpose or not!! quite frankly 2 years for them is a let off should have got 10 years!! BRING BACK HANGING!!

| i wasn't talking about some kid throwing a rock at you, i'm talking about the idiots (like Pasanonic who think all kids throw rocks at eachother for fun
you need to be some kind of special to think thats a game, the kind of special where you should be wearing bib, rubber underwear & be on a kiddie-harness

| Um, the younger the prisoner, the more likely he's back inside within 2 years.

I used to throw things at cars when I was a kid, still think it was pretty dumb and if I got caught and punished the first time maybe I wouldn't have done it that many times.

Bit harsh giving them 2 year at that age. Pretty much all boys throw rocks? A couple of my mates ended up getting stitches when we'd have rock wars at my place. Memories :*)
| rock wars? ffs were you trying for a junior darwin award?
and
"Pretty much all boys throw rocks" ?
not unless they're backwards-you don't throw things which can kill people
paper balls yes but not rocks ffs </BLOCKQUOTE>
tbf they were more hard sand rocks. Open your head up if they hit you but not likely to kill you.
Done alright for ourselves though - three of us doing PhD's or in med school, two are doctors, one investment banker, one royal marine, one has his own business, and one's an optician. Only one who was too pussy to have a rock thrown at his head had all the literary talent but sits at home playing games and reading comics nowadays! He was at a big advertising agency at one point, but never had the balls to make the most of himself. So let this be a lesson to you kids... |
