IpodLinux- installing it onto my 5G-a good idea or bad idea? not bothered by the invalidating warranty (long since gone)

1st modding i'll have done to it and have never used Linux in any capacity so is it easy to pick up?

not a good idea if you dont know what you're doing. The only thing it adds is OGG support.

the 5G is pretty much buggered tbh, it barely holds a charge and the headphone jack only plays through the left earpiece

so at this point i'm not too assed about it wrecking the thing

exited all applications associated with the iPod as suggested but no joy

its ok, found a diff. installer which worked- VERY senstive the wheel with Linux :S
