The player punishment is part of the whole process but when you see players throwing themselves to the floor in agony on the back of minimal contact, you have to question their reasoning behind it. </BLOCKQUOTE>

If they get their opponent sent off then their side has more chance of winning.

If that's what Docker is saying then I disagree. I think both are cheating and an attempt to win but one is worse than the other because it can get an opponent sent off.
Most infractions in rugby, wherein a penalty is given, are due to players coming over the ball, being ahead of the back foot or being offside.
This can firmly be planted in the over enthusiastic camp than the spoiling the game camp.
If it is continually spoiling the game then the ref has the option for heavier sanctions, including a penalty try and yellow cards. </BLOCKQUOTE>

tbh most players will do all in their power to prevent an almost certain try as long as it should only result in a penalty rather than a penalty try. They will do their best to deliberately knock on, kill the ball, collapse a maul etc right up to the point when they know its certain enough that a penalty try will be given.

Blimey, thread still on the front page, atleast it caused some form of debate.

On refletion I still pretty much stand by my points, although I might of been a little ott with them.

I find it amusing how some of you are happy for your teams to have no passion and cheat to win, I kind of prefer the feeling when you win in the right manner, all this bo***** about gaining an advantage in any way possible, if thats how you operate in the real world also then that just shows me what kind of people you are, welldone, I'm sure your parents are really proud.

How can you possibly know video replays for certain incedents wont work, will ruin the game, take the fun out of it etc?

You won't know unless you give it a chance, things have been changed in football before and worked brilliantly, the passback rule for instance, can you imagine the game now if the keeper was aloud to pick the ball up on a passback?

Then there was something that didn't work, the golden goal, they attempted it, it was ****, so they reverted back, I'm just saying things can be attempted and if it fails then it can be changed back, no harm done.

Obviously because I think these things it means I know nothing about football, am not as in love with it as you all are shouldn't dare air my veiws about it beacuase OTF knows best.
