i bought a firsthand (new game) final fantasy 11 from blockbusters yesterday, it's an online game, and therefore requires registration codes, which in theory are provided with the game.
however when i went to register it i'm told the code has already been used.
when buying the game i was worried that it might not be compatable with vista, and was told considering the registration i could not get a refund if i didnt work.
however my problem is the codes provided do not work (there is a vista patch). considering i didnt even get to register the game do i stand any chance of a refund or possibly(even better) new codes that will work?
(i obviously still have the receipt and cant be penalised for opening the package seen as the game was in an open package because they keep all game discs in drawers behind the desk(which should have made me suspicious to begin with seen as the codes were loose as well))

new game with dodgy registration codes, cashback? Post #2
there have been cases of people working at gaming retailers pinching cd-keys, either to play MMOs themselves or selling them online at cut prices. Most places like this let staff take the 'display copy' home to play outside of work hours - it could be possible that a dozy manager not up to speed on her MMOs is letting them get away with this.
hopefully the above isn't the case, but definitely worth taking up with the retailer.

should definitely get your money back, it's as good as a faulty product, which they are liable for, it doesn't come under the whole "if you're unsatisfied you can have your money back guarantee", which I assume is what doesn't apply to this type of game.
