me and my mate booked flights to go over to leeds for New Year.
that was grand, booked go to over the 29th, and come back the 1st, the 22:30 flight.
then his g/f decides she's coming (the tought of spending my new year with a couple being the spare wheel is a bit ****), so he goes and books her a flight, only then the 22:30 flight isnt there, and the only other flight back is the 19:40 flight that evening.
he rings them and they tell him the timetable has changed, now i am wondering, why the hell have the 22:30 flight up if they're gonna change it, as its pretty close to the time in relation to how far ahead you can actually book flights. oh and it means now we gotta rush from elland road to the airport as well, so wether or not we go to the game is still in the air.
so he didnt get clarification on wether or not we're automatically booked onto the earlier flight, my hunch would be no we aint.
so i rang them up there just to find out for myself and he obviously aint bothered in finding out, i rang them on my mobile as i figured it would only be for 3 mins or so im on, turns out im left hanging in a que for like 10 mins or so, before i got impatient and hung up.
the website has no email address i can email, so they're sponging money of folk by forcing them to make phone calls just to make a simple enquiry.
and now i hear you have to check in online, or pay when you get to the airport, its only €2 or so, but you gotta que up for the ryanair ticket sales, which if the airport is busy, like we had to do last year, then your waiting like 40 mins just to do that.
so rant over, they didnt even email my mate to tell him that the flight we're booked on to come back, is indeed cancelled, lucky he checked for his g/f eh
To be fair, they are entitled to change thier timetable and clearly says in the Terms and COnditions that you should have ticked that you have read says that they may have to change thier timetable due to operational reasons.
Normally, they have a list to work through to contact. Depends if that 22.30 flight is cancelled now for all days or just the 1st. If it''s a complete change then they will have a lot of customers to contact.
I remember working at British Midland having to work through a list with 3 other people of about 2500 people who booked a flight to Malaga to tell them it was now leaving at 6.40am instead of 11am.
oh yeah i'm not denying the fact that they do offer great cheap fares, and if it werent for them i wouldnt be able to go accross to england as often as i do, i'm just complaining about the stupid stuff they hit you with, like i listed above.
my mate told me yesterday when she was coming home from leeds that you gotta check in online, but then i said that to my mate who made the bookings for us for the leeds trip, and he said he didnt pick online check in, so im wondering now, do we still check in online, as i checked the website and it said you gotta do it otherwise pay a charge, im not bothered about the small charge, its just knowing wether or not we can still do it that way, or risk getting lumbered in the airport due to not getting there in time etc.
