I acess through a router too and it works fine.
Steam is pretty good I think, certainly better than it was when it first came out years ago.
I guess this is the place to ask:
In the TF2 Beta does anyone else just see big red flashing error things everywhere. That's all I see really, instead of a graphic of a person running around I see a big red flashing ERROR!! box running around
Steam works fine with my router too. Before the latest Steam updates it was probably at its best. Now they've added way too much and if you don't turn off the "in game community" crap it slows the game down.
Can you not just buy & Portal as part of the Ep2 package like they said originally. I don't see why I should have to buy HL2 & Ep1 again cos I want the others :thdn: .
Apparently they come on sale seperatly after they are released.
Most people who are looking forward to the game will want to play it soon as and so hence buy the whole thing (which is more expensive I would reckon) and so they make more money I guess.

You are Paying for HL2 Ep2, TF2 and Portal, HL2 and Ep1 are thrown in for free. TF2 itself is worth the price of the Orange box tbh and if you already have them on steam you can gift them to a friend.

Have you tried right clicking on TF2 in steam and going into properties. Click on Local Files and then click both Verify Integrity of Cache and Defrag Cache. That might do the trick.
