Ok, worth a try to see if some of you guys could help me
I graduated this year, getting a 2:1 in maths from Notts uni. Since graduating I've just been labouring on a building site to pass the time until I go travelling in February. I'm earning £300 a week before tax. With what I've earnt I've sorted a few debts out I had and also paid for the flights for when I go travelling.
I have two problems that have arisen.
Firstly, I had planned on getting a loan of £5k for travelling. Howeverm I applied at my bank (Barclays) and they're turned me down, which is worrying me now.
If I had a job lined up then I think it would be easier to get a loan, and I'm looking for jobs in the actuary market in the midlands. What sites would you recommend looking for jobs? Or even what companies?
Also, do you reckon I could get a loan from another bank, without the grad job lined up, and if so, where?
Thanks, I am actually the most unorganised person in the world.

Yeah well we'd only have lost to Chelsea so saved ourselves the trouble of another match.
So how does everyone else save up for these trips? You're working full time so I can't imagine people having done more work than you. What are Tom and Andy doing?
I'm probably speaking out of turn here and I've not ever done this myself, but as a last resort you could use a credit card with 0% for a year if you got desperate - I'm sure I'll get shot down for that idea though

I have a credit card with excellent credit history, earn more than Goddard is atm and they still only offered me half of what he wants. Plus most 0% interest cards are 15 months absolutely tops, and I imagine he is travelling for a year, which means he'd only have 3 months where the 0% would help him, after that he'd be on an interest rate double what a loan would be, unless he applied for a different card and did a balance transferrrrrrrrrrrr
