Okay, I currently have a Netgear WG311T PCI network card which runs fine on XP, however, I have looked at the drivers on Netgears website and they dont support 108mbps on Vista which I am shortly upgrading to.

Any guys out there using Vista and a wireless network, if so, what wireless card do you use?

Im looking for PCI aswell, really dont like having too many USB devices.

I use Vista and exactly that card.

It doesn't support 108, you're right, but to be honest my laptop didn't either - I've used 54 since I got the router now. The one conclusion I make is that XP > Vista for network speeds. It's so sllllllllloooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww sometimes

My advice when it comes to wireless..

£15 on amazon for a 20m cable :thup:

wireless is pointless unless the router is sitting 3 metres away from you, with a clear line of sight.

My wireless is all the way downstairs and I rarely get disconnected. Much better than wires imo.

Don't they set it up for you?

Check in the box you got, should have a card which has "SSID" on.

I had so many problems with it I ended up putting a wire through the loft and coming down the wall in my room to my hub.

My brother can't use his computer properly sometimes because the connection is so unstable, and it only has to go 5 metres and through one wall.

At work they had, and it was rubbish. Any type of office equipment interferes with it, its far too unstable to be a viable option imo.

I'd prefer wired on Vista tbh. I have a desktop, so it's a lot easier to do than a laptop because it's always in one place (obviously)
