If you tell your friends where it came from they lose the money?
If they were really you're friends they would give you some anyway and they would think, hey all three of us have made a million and our poor mate hasn't.

3 isn't high, ive just thought if there were only 3 £500,000 gifts i'd be stuck on who to give to and who not to give to. i suppose if you are canny you'd pick the friends who will be most likely to share with everyone.
