The prohibition on telling your friends seems to be because you aren't supposed to take credit for the good deed.

But it is also contingent on people believing you and giving you that credit. The friends in this story would only give you credit if they thought you were telling the truth, and if they didn't believe you, you wouldn't gain any advantage by trying to take credit. In fact, you may be worse off, since your friends would think you were trying to grab unjustified credit for their good fortune.

On that note, if you tried to tell your friends that the million dollars they just lucked into was due to a deal you made with God, would they believe you? I doubt it. It seems unlikely that you'd break the spirit of the deal even if you tried to.
