DVD Recorder and Sky Problem
Right, trying to set up DVD Recorder with shy, but getting sound through the dvd player yet no video.
As far as I can see I have all the cables in the right way.
Any idea's?

Don't Sky scramble the signal somehow to prevent reception on DVD recorders, so you can't record movies, etc.... They used to a few years ago, I remember a mate having problems, eventually had to upgrade to Sky+ because of it.

billy - have you tried connecting a scart lead from your sky box to the back of your recorder?

Here . There is a lot of discussion about this type of problem.
I think Gav is right though. There is a detailed explanation in one of the threads explaining why you can't do it - something about the technical capability of DVDs not being sufficient to allow the recording.
You can, of course, record onto a PVR.

I've just tried it out in mine upstairs and it records without any problems. It's just connected using scart leads.
