We have that sort of setup at home and all is fine. I have it all connected via scart.
Scart output from sky to Tv
Scart output (should say Video) to Scart input on DVD recorder
Scart output from DVD to TV.
DVD is then used on AV2 I think and can record direct from SKy on it.

Have you checked the setup settings for your DVD recorder? There might be something selected for picture on AV?
I had no picture at first but just turned out the scart wasn't in hard enough and then it appeared.
What DVD recorder is it?

Crown CDVDRW300 - Nothing special.
Checked the scarts and also settings, just no pic | |

Hmmm, normally if it was a problem with the Sky you should get a message saying that it can't receive picture not just a blank screen.
I know it's obvious but have you tried connecting the Scart leads serperatly and making sure each one in turn works.
So use each one your using in turn to get a picture direct from Sky?

Hmm I'm out of ideas now. Other than try pressing menu on the control and just going through the menu's and also check settings for the AV channels.

Too add to that...
If I turn the DVD Player off I get Sky TV through AV3 as well as AV2.
Don't know if this means anything.
