I've decided to have a quiet word with my dad over the weekend. He's only just had some time to himself after organising the funeral etc so not going to approach him until Saturday, as he probably needs some time. But I'm just going to ask if he thinks she should know.

I think thats probably the best thing you can do Herman. He may just want someone to talk over the options or may just want to explain whatever his decision will be so he can hear how it sounds when he says it out loud (I hope that makes sense)
Even by him knowing that your thinking about him and the situation it will help him.

Just because I write something that's a little different to the normal boring response it means I must be trying to be controversial. Yeah, my aim is to have people on an FM forum think I'm a rogue cannon - that's how I bolster my self-worth.
And if I dare do it to one of the pathetic losers who seemingly spends their entire life on here, some of the other similar losers pile in and "put me in my place". Cranker's post is one of the most embarrassing things I've read in ages; there's little worse than geek-posturing. It's so embarrassing. What acerbic responce here has put me back in my place? Was it the one saying I was rubbish or the other one saying I was rubbish?
If you think I value the sheep-like views of people who have time and inclination to post 30,000 times on a messageboard, you're judging me by your socially inept standards.
Herman asked for opinions, I gave mine, I didn't slag his dead Grandad off, you can call off the dogs.

Calling his family "greedy, selfish turds" obviously an attempt to be controversial. Then it's just one sarcastic response after the other. More attempts at being controversial. At least have the balls to admit it ffs.

Easy way to determine responsibility for choice of notification, whose father is it, your dad's or your mom's?
One thing I've learned from having 9 aunts and uncles is to stay the **** out of family politics if possible.
Two aunts refuse to have anything to do with one of their sisters, won't talk to her, won't invite her to any family gatherings, and won't show up to anything with her family there.
Kind of funny to see this petty crap considering they've had one brother die prematurely already and another is a druggie/HIV positive/living on the streets.

It was my dad's dad. Tbf my mum is staying well out of it, she just mentioned to me when I was finding out about this that she thought it was the husband's doing and she's kept in contact with the sister.

Really put Cranker in his place there. Needed someone to let him know what a "pathetic loser" he is. I mean, leaving everyone you know to cycle around the world - for charity - and then hooking up with a hot Swiss babe along the way. How sad is that? Sure he couldn't have done it without his satellite internet connection so he wouldn't have to be away from OTF.
