| yeah, my original post was a joke.
should have been a red though, correct decision influenced by a player seems better than incorrect decision to me

Denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's
goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick?
If he is the last man, which he was (other than the keeper obviously) then I don't see how it's not a clear goal-socring oppurtunity.
Are you honestly saying it shouldn't have been a red?

| for the last time, last man does not automatically equal red ffs.
this wasn't a blatant handball on the line. gerrard was wide in the box, running at pace. there is guarantee he was even going to get a shot at goal never mind being denied a "clear goal scoring opportunity" anyway. Quote:

hey, you were the one who asked why a yellow would be wrong. i was merely saying why, and from the replays seems clear to me gearrd would have got a decent shot on goal, denied by being tripped up.
if you want to complain about gerrard influencing the ref then fine, but complaining about the red seems as biased as people saying kuyt didnt deserve a red or that it shouldnt of been a penalty when carragher fouled whoever it was.
