Basically what happened was the posties are are not going on their breaks and using their cars to deliver your post, and in turn they get off earlier (but still get paid an extra couple of hours at the end of their shift for doing nothing because they did all their work)

but then the management complained and want all the posties to work their full hours (basically go back to the post office and help sort once they have done their rounds)

so what the posties did is said 'ok if you want us to work to rules, we will, we will go on our break (so post is later) we wont use our cars (so the post office have to supply a bike, which in one post office they were about 80 short on)

which in turn caused the management to say 'sod you lot we are striking too'

I find this ridiculous because all that happens is that everyone gets ****ed off and stops using royal mail. In turn Royal Mail loses business and makes less money and has less post to be delivered. In turn the striking employees end up putting their jobs even more at risk and the company in far less of a position to possibly pay them any more money.

And I know for a fact that an incredibly large amount of Royal Mail workers claim for far more hours than they actually work. Some in particular finishing in the early afternoon and claiming overtime until the evening (sometimes 8pm).

Royal Mail is an utter joke. When its as incredibly inefficient as it is workers shouldn't ****ing strike when they aren't offered a ****ing ridiculous 27% payrise.
