Default I'm new to this whole train travel thing up here, I need help
Back home I'm used to bowling up to my local train station and saying "london please" and then getting on the train.

What I want to do now is go from lancaster to liverpool. outwards journey I will be getting the 16:29 (departing from lancaster) on Friday 2 November 2007 and I will be coming back on sunday the 4th but I don't know what time. Now what is the best/cheapest way to do this and how should I book it.

Yeah, saver return is an open return ticket. Put in the time of the outbound journey, select journey type 'return' but leave the time blank in the return journey.

Just make sure you pre-book else they charge you loads.
