i passed 1st time and my only minor was "driving too close to the curb"

was complete rubbish it was because it was end of a school day and teenagers were all over the road ffs

Thought this might be the best thread to post in.
Mainly a question for Serpico I would have thought.

I'm taking my first test fairly soon. (sometime in the next fortnight), presuming I pass then what would you say the position is on buying my instructor a bottle of wine or something.
I was thinking for ages it would be the thing to do, but then I thought, well it is her job, so now I'm not sure.

Leaning towards yes, but maybe it's a big no-no or something.

My mum failed her first test with ONE mistake, just one.. then passed her second.
She was well chuffed, but now cant be arsed with it as she drives me and my brother everywhere.

Passed it July first time, 3 minors.

Driving so cool, although now I'm at uni I can't do it.

it took me 3 times to pass my practical, first time was due to nerves includind 3 major faults ( trying to start off in both neutral and 2nd gear, and getting a three point turn rather badly wrong ), the second time I got hemmed in by a funeral hearse and accompianing cars on a main road and got failed for some obscure reason!
