Bought FM for the first time since champ man days, and it's got me and an old friend reminiscing of an older MS-DOS game we used to play.
From what we can remember: You started off in division four, with a standard set of players. It had a transfer market where you could buy and sell players, European competitions, and most uniquely, you could bet on the outcome of games. I can't remember any pictures of pitches, it was all text based.
Anyone else remember playing it too? It was pretty ahead of its time.

This sounds like The Football Game -- the pre-One-Nil flagship game of the great Wizard Games of Scotland.
