the italian 'supercup' was played in New York a few years ago, between Milan and Juventus. if what the media said was true both teams made a massive profit from the game compared to if they had played it in Torino (juve were the league holders iirc)

Is that UEFA who is trying to whore the CL final to an asian country? </BLOCKQUOTE>

CL final is different, no season ticket holders, and 75% corporate anyway. </BLOCKQUOTE>

So how is a Premier League match any different than a regular season NFL game?

wouldn't this just be another thing to help the big clubs stay big clubs? Really it will only be one of the top4 (ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs) they will be the only sides the Americans will be interested in, no way will they take a Derby vs Wigan game in, so it would just again favour the big clubs.

how much are NFL tickets? do you sell 75,000 at $70-$80 a go? I'd suggest broadening the NFLs appeal will mean more merchandise sales, more tv money coming in, in football it's already pretty much maxed out in terms of international attention. There's not much money to be made by playing abroad, and the fans just wouldn't stand for it, attitudes over here are different towards our clubs, the fans feel as though the club belongs to them regardless of whether it does or not.

yeah but Juve season tickets were about £70 or something stupid were they not? and they rarely got more than 25,000 fans in, certainly not for the equivalent of a charity shield match. Can't see it being worth it for the Premier League.

why must we keep trying to promote football in America, if only a small group there like it then so be it.
