Guess a one off pre-season thing could happen. probably already has.
| yeah it has done, United have toured there and played Munich and Chelsea, Chelsea toured there again I think since. They charge around £50 a ticket for friendlies, genius idea.

Makes more sense if its a one-off game, like the Community Shield. The summer friendly tours in the US sell a load of tix, so people would probably be up for it. And if its the CS, you could probably bring the two teams over a week or so before the match and do all kinds of exhibitions and publicity. Might be good for the EPL, sell some jerseys, etc.

oh and no it won't happen for a premier league game, the fans would go mental, United make £3m or something for every home game anyway, can't see them making more by playing one in the US, esp with the exchange rate, with 2 games nearly every week too the logistics of flying that far and back and the time differences etc would make it incredibly difficult to fit in. I can't see the EPL/FA/UEFA/FIFA allowing it at all. It's was hard enough for Wimbledon to play their home games in MK ffs, never mind in NY.

Would have to be a non-premiership game, unless they refund the season ticket holders

CL final is different, no season ticket holders, and 75% corporate anyway.
