What's happened with Jol this season? They seemed to be playing well when I watched them last year, and they've been doing better in the league and Europe than anytime in recent history. Has this season's form just been a blip, and bad luck? Jol mismanagement? Board stuff? Buying the wrong players? He's just always seemed a good manager to me.
AS usual, a number of things. Commolli buying and selling players regardless of Jol's wishes. Levy being a **** generally, especially in the pursuit of Ramos, that made Jol's departure almost inevitable in the way he was undermined. And Jol can't go blameless, in the way he has completely failed to get his defence even remotely organised.
But overall, you've got to point more blame in the direction of the chairman, who appear to be the worst of both worlds in that not only does he not know a lot about football (where he's not unusual for a chairman), but much worse than that he thinks he does.

Always a matter of time after the earlier Ramos talks.
Give it a couple of wins and their fans on here will be back in our thread explaining how they have a better squad than us and are definitely going to overtake us in the league.
Has that happend before then?

All managers suffer a blip every now and again, especially if there are a number of new, big-money players who need to bed into the side. Given time and support I reckon Jol and Spurs would have pulled through it.
He was not given the support though from a very early point in the season and from then on in, he never had a chance, lost players like Berbatov and morale sunk. As Ratinho said, the issues are higher up in the club. It wouldn't surprise me if the club/Levy leaked the story to the press tonight, if only to make Jol look even weaker in the eyes of the public/team.

Excuse me? Care to elaborate who these "fans" are? And please exclude nelly.
