I'm thinking about upgrading to a better computer; but I'd like to get my current one assessed first by people who actually know what they're talking about. I do quite a bit of multi tasking (downloading stuff whilst playing a game and scanning for virus/spyware in the background) My computer copes reasonably well but it sometimes needs time to catch up. I play moderately demanding games(football manager with quite a few leagues runnung fully) but not the most cutting edge games. Will I need a better computer in the near future when programs start to get alot more demanding?
Here are the specs:
Intel Pentium D 2.66 and 2.67GHz Why two figures?
1024mb RAM
XP Home Edition
Nvidia GeForce 6200 TurboCache
That's all the info I could find.
It looks good, however you should buy a mothercard that support upgradements, I mean a mothercard that supports future intel processors, so in 3 years you can update your rigg without having to buy the whole sh*t.
It is outdated by todays systems, but I wouldn't say it's terrible. Your problem may be memory rather than the processor, you might consider getting another GB. Intel are releasing new processors in January, so if you do want to upgrade or buy new then wait until they are shipping.
