OK, I have been looking around at new pcs as I've just learnt that mine won't be able to play Oblivion very well. I stumbled across a website called pcspecialist which allows you to build your own custom pc and then they'll deliver fully built with all drivers installed. I've been fiddling around with it and at last came up with this:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.0GHz) 2x 1mb Cache.
Memory: 2048mb XMS2 800MHz (2x1gb).
Motherboard: Asus M2N Dual DDR II, S-ATA, x16VGA, 3 PCI.
Hard Drive: 250GB Serial ATA II with 8MB Cache (7200rpm).
DVD/CD drive + writer.
Graphics card: No here's the problem, I've narrowed it down to 2 cards; ATI RADEON 512mb X1950 PRO PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT or... Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS 256mb PCI Express.
Sound Card: 6 Channel Realtek ALC660 High Definition Audio (Onboard)
~£500 with either card, but which one is best?
