What's the hardest part of Golf for novices such as your selves? Driving, the approach shot or putting. I've always got the impression that the approach shot would be the hardest to master but I've never played golf.

Putting is the hardest thing for 9/10 golfers.

I would say 90% of the time I'm 2-3 putting no matter where I get myself on the green. I'd literally be hitting about 75-80 if I could control my putting.

Putting is usually one of the better parts of my game. However my short game is pretty poor generally.

Going for a lesson on that very aspect this week.

hurrah. Dad found his footjoy shoes from ages ago which still fit me & don't look awful.

My left hand took a bit of a sore one at the range so I'm looking into getting a glove. Is there really much difference in the quality of getting one + £10 rather than under?

Not in my opinion. You should get a good one for less than a tenner.

Nope, none at all, don't take leather gloves as the usually get ruined quite quickly even though they often cost more. On the continent you pay around £8 for a pair of gloves.

You should take a good look at your grip if you are getting blisters on your hand after the range.

And yeah a glove is essential, without it you will lose control of the club.
