Default New PC

I am looking at buying a new computer as my current one is 4 years old and one of those bundles you can get from Tesco. Not what I wanted at the time but I didnt really have a choice.

Not really sure whats good and whats not, just want something that will run FM and Pro Evo. Apart from that I will just be using it for uni work.

Bugdet probally around £800.

thanks in advance

Don't know about specific systems as I always build my own, but for £800, any computer you buy will eat Pro Evo and FM for breakfast. Pro Evo isn't that demanding, and FM runs fine on just about anything, provided you've got enough RAM.

Get a dual core processor, and a decent Direct X 10 graphics card and you'll be fine. For the price you're quoting, an Intel E6750 and an 8800GTS are realistic enough. Make sure you get 2gb of RAM at the very least, and if you can get 4gb then all the better.

8800GT came out today so look for that rather than an 8800GTS, I'll second the E6750 though. You'll be fine with an Nvidia 8600GT or ATI 2600XT though if when looking at systems they have those cards.

I'm guessing you probably want a prebuilt system so check out www.meshcomputers.com and dell. I've no idea of any other decent vendors in the UK for custom good value systems.

just bought a pc from www.chillblast.com

Another well reviewed site is www.pcspecialist.co.uk

You can choose all the components from scratch or modify base systems.
