Right at the end of a futsal game last night. I can barely walk today. Of course I can't work when I can't walk, so I have to stay home playing FM2008.

My question is, what can a doctor do for my ankle? My girlfriend thinks I should go to a doctor, but I have no insurance. I doubt that it would cost more than I can afford, but short of surgery, what good would it do me? I would appreciate any information from people with experience in this area. Thanks.

He can advise you, pescribe anti inflamatory cream.

Also can advise you of a course of recouperation and repair. It will be dramatically weaker than before spraining and will need physio to strengthen it.

He'd probably advise you to rest it and, at most, only do gentle exercise like swimming (once it starts to get better).

You live somewhere where healthcare is chargeable, even for a GP consultation?

There's something about ice, elevation and some other stuff but I can't be bothered to googlise it.
