Are these phones any good? What is the music and video like? I did a search for the phone and seems most of the threads are closed for some reason.

The Gadget Show featured the iPhone on Monday - it appears to be very sleek and does have some cool features (e.g. the scrolling between photos) and it's in built speakers are pretty good.

However, it's outperformed by the Nokia N95 as the iPhone is significantly harder to text with and it isn't able to record video, as well as the fact that its camera technology appears to be 2-3 years out of date.

Thanks. I was watching the gadget show and they were saying you can't change the battery and txting is hard in fact they were comparing it to the Nokia N95 which was just as good.
I woudn't want to pay £260 for a phone then pay £30 for 12 or 18 months.

I used the iPhone for a bit and the only reason I got rid was because I thought it would be awkward to use without buttons. Times like when you want to quickly dial someone you can just hold down a speed dial number on a Nokia, on the iPhone you would have to go through 2-3 menus. Also, yeah texting can be a pain having to look at the screen at all times when you want to send a text. Don't think it's hard to use the QWERTY keyboard, just annoying that you can't SMS without constantly looking at the screen unlike on a Nokia with which you are overly familiar and can rapidly text.

Has a fffb GUI though and videos look immense on it. Battery life was way better on the iPhone cf the N95s I've used. Not saying it was bad on the N95 but the battery on the iPhone is shockingly good.

Why? Because it lets you play Mp3s and access your e-mails too? other phones do it and don't try and claim they're the only ones that do it right. </BLOCKQUOTE>

it has a good web browser, excellent mp3 playback which includes quality, storage space, excellent ui for playback and browsing, itunes music store built in, has a good calender app, good quality camera, good quality large widescreen screen, accelerometer which changes display of pictures on tilt, easy to use ui with touch screen, sexy looking device.

ive never said it was the best in all features of the phones on the market, but it does most things well enough to be considered one o0f the best of what it does on the market. </BLOCKQUOTE>




This was fairly big in the US because in terms of mobile technology we tend to be one generation behind the rest of the world so it was roughly equivalent to what was already out there, but phones in the rest of the world have long surpassed it imo.

Also, it doesn't hurt that it had the 'hip' marketing bandwagon behind it.
