Premier Manager 64 was a bit guff.
Indeed it was
And iirc, you could never score a penalty? I seem to remember the highlights showing penalties, and they were always saved. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Yeah, something like that. I just remember that one day I figured out the two best formations (all in-built...no customisation) to deal with whatever the other team threw at you, and as long as you put your most fit players in the positions you'd walk the league every time.
I quite liked On The Ball tbh. The translation was absolutley laughable, as was the method for rating players abilities, but there was some good stuff in there too.
It took FOREVER to play though - and the fact that you had to copy each of the disks before you started added another half hour on top of that.
I don't know about worst, but before my family had a PC I used to love management games on the PS.
I always remember one of the Premier Manager games had a sample of someone saying 'I want us to go through the whole season without losing one match' that was cut with some snazzy music and would play over in the background.
Plus rubbishy data didn't really grate with me as a naive youngster. Having Joos Valgaeren as an attacking right winger with 99 for pace and acceleration for my Player Manager Celtic side was ffffb.
As was getting a random message on the same game one day, saying a man from a foreign land had delivered me a 'young foreign promise' named Nigel Chukwo, who went on to be my top scorer for 13 consecutive seasons :***)
