Ok, so the connection died earlier but it's back up now...kinda.

I can download stuff and browse certain websites (like this one), but other websites (like Google) don't work (Page not displayed etc etc) and neither does MSN.

Tried resetting router and everything, didn't seem to work.

Ok, I can access these forums, but not the main SI website

And doubt it's an ISP problem if only certain websites/services aren't working

of course it is, if the isp can't find a route to certain servers then certain pages won't display. if it was a router problem you wouldn't be getting anything

micght be a virus you know, i had one once that blocked access to just about any helpful anti virus removal site

I'll run a virus scan now.

btw, another PC on the network seems to work perfectly fine, so yea, probably a problem on this one.

right, ran a trace route on various websites that didn't work and on each one I got a 'destination host unreachable' error. Apparently that means a cable is probably loose somewhere but I've already checked.
