Default Studying Law / Working for a law centre.

Myself and my family and friends have been through a lot recently, ending with myself being called some pretty bad names (as stated in a post on here) since then I have done a lot of thinking, thinking about people who are in my position or similar and have nobody they can turn to.

I want to study law, take the qualifications I have and learn everything there is - and I don't want to be some fat cat earning £5k an hour, I want to help local people.

Problem is, how... where do I turn?

Anybody here actually work in Law?

What do I need to do?

Shall I look for work experience?

Any help is most appreciated, thanks guys.

I've done my Law degree and am doing the Legal Practice Course at the moment.

What do you want to do then, be a solicitor or just work in a CAB?

Well, I would like to be a solicitor, perhaps one day work for myself - but making sure I take on clients who need help, people who I can believe in.

But working for the Law Centre etc would be something I want to do as well

What advice can you give?

The Law Centre stuff I'm not really up to speed on to be honest.

With the solicitor side of things, don't do it unless you are sure, this course isn't cheap There is an option on my course to do a Public Legal Services route and do stuff that might appeal to you. Not my thing thogugh in truth.

Can post it in here really, basically this. You have to do it in order to become a solicitor, no way around it. If you want more detailed info then I'll send send you something, but I'm knackered at the moment to be honest as it was a long day, so it'll probably be tomorrow

There are a few other users on OTF who are working in the Law in some form so you might get some better answers from there.
