PC upgrade advice to run Crysis & Bioshock.. Post #11 | | Senior Member

Get a decent dual core processor and a top of the range graphics card. My AMD dual core processor running at 2.5GHz with an 8800GTX OC annihilates Bioshock at 1920x1200 max settings and plays Crysis well too.

What's your budget ?
I'm about to spend about £500 on an upgrade next week.
C2D E6550
OCZ 2GB DDRII RAM
8800GT 512MB
GA m/b
OCZ 600W PSU
Getting all of them from ebuyer, looked around and it's the cheapest to get from them. Free delivery too.

Where you getting that 8800GT from Artest? I've not seen them in any of the online retailers, not even for pre-order.

My problem is I don't know enough about my PC to know what components are compatible

| None of the online retailers are doing pre-orders but I read on some forums (ebuyer.com and overclockers.co.uk) that they'll be selling them online around noon tomorrow at most places.

Don't buy any Geforce card except the 8800 range, it's false economy.
