\o/ Me too.

But I had to use half of that to buy savings stamps, ffs.

3d a week. That's 13/- (shillings, for those that never saw it before) over the year. Real high finance, that.

£3 a day for lunch  I got £1.50 and I'm a few years younger than you, where the hell did they expect you to eat your lunch ffs? I'd go without lunch on Mondays just so I could buy whatever the best single was that week.

then again I did end up subsidising my own lunches as I got older and hungrier. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Might have been £2 a day come to think of it, cant really remember was 16 years ago Although i was at school in Kent which is no doubt much more expensive than the pikey norf :p

decimilisation ? There should be an a in there instead of one of those many i's. :herman:

Decimalisation was a difficult time. Real money in some shops, Mickey Mouse money in others. A tanner's only worth tuppence-ha'penny. Half crowns gone.

No longer could anybody spend a ten bob note.

Was advised by my dad to "get a job" so I got a few paper rounds. Got in with the guv'nor at the shop who let me get access to his porn and consequently his cigarettes. I was on about £30 a week in 1986 before I got busted at home, school AND work. That was a bad day.
