Might fall down on capacity, but Pride Park is so much better than the Walkers'.

Think you're right on that one, would like to see a game or two in Leicester if im still living in the area at that time.

Is there's a limit on the stadium's capacity for the WC?

Fifa ideally want every stadium to be at least 40k. I think as we one of the bigger nations in football in terms of stadia etc i think this will be enforced.

the limit's around 35/40k iirc, can't remember exactly.

Pride Park's expandable if i remember rightly, but i assume Derby would have to be established in the Prem fairly soon for an expansion to be considered (and thus that seems unlikely).

Quote:
Pride Park Stadium is a football (soccer) stadium in the Pride Park business park on the outskirts of Derby, England. It is owned by and is the home of Derby County F.C. The stadium holds 33,597 spectators. On 11 June 2007, the club announced plans to expand the capacity to 44,000 for the 2008–09 season, subject to retaining their Premiership status.
From Wiki. I'll take that as a no, then

What about European Championships?
I know we (Austria) only have one stadium which is over 40k (Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna, 53K). The other three are around 30k.
