Rats - I'm just talking about this specific press release and not others previous - I'm not really aware of his other ideas but banning 'tackling' doesn't sound great - it isn't basketball! I haven't heard about this idea so it couldn't have got that far.....

Sure the main 4 normally win it every year, but didn't Millwall get into the final a few years ago, so did the Hammers....
irrelevant seeing as both of them lost.

check the winners of the Cup for the last 10 years... gonna make a HUGE difference to the CL lineup isnt it.

'spirit of the cup' heh

Platini just as much a tool as Blatter is. He should learn to stfu and keep his **** ideas to himself. If he's looking to stop young players moving to bigger and better clubs, what's next? Stopping any player moving? Why should Sidwell get to move to Chelsea? When will Reading have a good team? His idiotic arguement could be used for almost anyone. Shevchenko spending his career at Kiev? Players move to bigger and better clubs, it's part of football. Why did Platini move to Saint-Étienne and Juventus? How were Nancy supposed to build a great side?

You were a fantastic player, but you make for a **** bureaucrat. Do a Pele and advertise impotence medicine.

"If my son is playing at Millwall and at 16 Manchester come in for this player then when will Millwall have a good team?"
Cracks me up when foreign people just say Manchester. They always mean United

It was a pi$$ poor idea last time he voiced it and it still is... If clubs cba with their national cups then let them ignore it ffs, there is no god given right for a cup competition to be important if it traditionally isn't (this isn't a problem in brittish football tbf, it is because of other countries it is suggested).

Very few people know Man City outside England/The UK, this why we foreigners often say Manchester when referring to Man Utd.

If he wants to do whats best for football then he should pack up his things and leave and never talk to a newspaper/TV camera again. Such a tool.
