I've never understood why Religion and hatred are so strongly linked.

If anything, religious people, knowing that God/Allah will punish those who sin against Him for all eternity with 'Hell' should be tolerant.

Let the sinners have their fun now while we live a life of virtue. We'll get rewarded come Judgement Day while the rest will get their comeuppance.

But no. Religious people aparently consider themselves fit to sit on God's / Allah's chair and hand out punishments prematurely.
