I must have done 30 hours when I've gone nights without sleep, probably lots of micro-sleep in lectures or work the next day though. Also I can't really sleep on planes, trains or coaches, so although I get some rest I'm very rarely properly asleep. Last summer I was travelling from Detroit to New York via Montreal and Toronto, and to save on accommodation took night buses, which lead to very little sleep. Plus I never sleep very well when I'm in a new bed anyway. It's surprising how little sleep I can get by on. Yet I also find it very difficult to get out of bed.

Ronnie Wood on Top Gear claimed 6 days with Keith Moon, then he pretty much slept for 2 days afterwards. That was probably 'wind assisted' though.

| sums it up for me too. an hour or two sleep and i'm up for at least sixteen hours. i'll get headaches so bad my head feels like it's about to pop, but i won't be able to get back to sleep.
30 hours straight is a doddle btw.

During the Y2K issue, we worked 7am till 4am next day for 3 weeks solid , so thats 147 hour weeks which fitted in nicely with the snooker.
After day 4, your brain shuts down to single tasking and you really cant concentrate on anything other than whats in front of you.
During week 2 was the hallucinations and scary stuff. That wasn't good.
Funny enough after all that the recovery period after was just a few days of normal 8-10 hour sleeps.
| Amazed that anyone would agree to do this tbh.

| Would it not become counter-productive doing that many hours, when you take into account how slowly people would work, and how many mistakes they'd make?
