So just watched this, was good but crap ending. And clearly the people of Alaska dont play Oblivion, as everyone knows you kill vampires with enchanted swords and cure vampire disease by praying at an altar
Anyway, anyone think this is very violent and extreme for a 15 rating? I would have said it was an 18 if i didnt know. Lots of gore, blown heads, people getting mangled in machines etc and evil kid vampires. Makes me laugh really as ive seen less gore in games that are 18's
I think they didnt show alot of the really gory stuff like the eating of the flesh. They showed panned out views of it so you couldnt see much and probably how they got away with the 15 rating
Still saw the mangled body though after he'd been eaten
Posted what I thought in the film thread, the ultimate ending was good, by the 10 minutes prior to that were poor.
As for the violence, as Kermode said, basically these days you can get away with tons of violence in a 15. Only becomes an 18 if there is a sexual element to it.
I suppose you could argue they didn't ACTUALLY show you the child getting beheaded. But still, pretty gorey for the rating. I even said as we went in "It can't be that gruesome, it's only a 15!".
Enjoyed it though. Even though a lot of it was predictable - One of the party getting scratched and them having to decide what to do with him being the most obvious bit for me.
Not sure how they could use the same rules really, pretty different mediums in terms of how they get their message across. Maybe the games use the BBFC as a framework.
