To stop that raising the limit wont help much as id guess alot of the ginge drinkers are over 21 anyway. Making pubs/club more responsible for their actions would be better. The number of people i see getting served drunk by bar staff is a joke. Stop pubs/clubs having these 'buy 2 drinks get a 3rd free' or "make it a double for 50p more" deals would help alot

I think they did that in Glasgow. Banned happy hours and drink offers. Luckily it was just before I left.
Whether they raise the drink age or not, people are going to do it. I had been drinking quite regularly since I was 16 and my mate's Dad used to let us drink it his house as he knew we were going to do it anyway, so we were in an environment where we can't get up to no good and can be kept under control. Was great for going round to watch the football and have a few beers or get a few DVDs in on a Saturday evening.
At least then when we could go to the pub we weren't falling all over the place after a few drinks.
It's going to be the same if they raise it to 21. A lot of people aren't going to agree with it and allow their sons/daughters to have a drink.
I know if I had a son/daughter who was 16 or above I would allow them to have a drink as long as it was kept under control.
So you can get married at 16 and can't have a drink for another five years. It's just a bit silly.
