they look like they would be impossible to open, no little grooves or owt to prise it open.

does a battery cost much, i always said to myself, when the battery in this one fails me, i'd prob just go out and buy a new one, rather then replacing it, mines a third gen ipod as well.

Oh, and what Nick said. Mine is usually at the bottom of my bag, which gets kicked, dropped, etc.

Likewise. Although i tend to upgrade every 12-18 months so mine don't get the longest time to break.

yeah gav a fiver is pretty reasonable price to pay for one, considering im still using an iPod though with no colour screen or images on it though, it looks so old and dated compared to the rest of the ones you see folk using

The ipod. Never had a problem with the battery since 4G versions came out. Went for Creative before then.

my mate is heading over now in a few weeks might be tempted to get him to pick us up one if the price is pretty good.

But then there is the import tax to pay when he's coming back.

OFC he could just bin the box, hide the receipt and say he took it out there with him - but that would be illegals afaik
