rubbish. high standard of living? really high taxes, can't drive more than 60 mph on the roads (i don't like driving fast cars or anything, but ffs how boring), alcohol incredibly expensive, rains all the time, no identity, can't think of any interesting culture, abba ffs. and yes i know that's sweden but people talk about sweden in similar terms. high standard of living? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Highest standard of living in the world, shown by numerous surveys. As somebody said, taxes are spend wisely, everybody gets a fair deal.
Plenty of identity, it rains not much more than the UK, there is nothing wrong with it basically. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Plus the thing about the "cripplingly high taxes" is a bit of a myth
Comparison of Taxes paid by a household earning the country's average wage
Country Single no children (Married 2 children)
Norway 37.3% (29.6%)
Poland 43.6% (42.1%)
Czech Republic 43.8% (27.1%)
United Kingdom 33.5% (27.1%)

Germany 51.8% (35.7%)
Italy 45.4% (35.2%)
